Damian Francis Wagner is a multi-faceted, multi-dimensional evolutionary artist for the 21st Century. He works with an extensive variety of mediums: painting, sculpture, video, music composition and sound design. His sonic palette consists of electric, acoustic and modified elements utilizing intrinsically created instruments out of recycled and eco materials. Artistically his vision creates powerful experiences that not only inspire, but enlighten and engage our senses on multiple levels. He is committed to the environment and utilizes consciousness of sustainability during the creation of his work.

As a gifted artist at age 16, he was invited to attend the famed Minneapolis College of Art and Design where he was able to view works by such artists as: Chuck Close, Robert Longo and Rothko in the University's Gallery. Awe struck by the technique and duality of Chuck Close's 1967 self portrait, defined the moment that activated this pioneering creative spirit, fueling infinite thoughts into the gifts we receive from his ingenious visions and penetrating soundscapes.

After honing his musical and engineering abilities in studios such as Prince's Paisley Park in Minneapolis, Damian moved to Los Angeles in 1991 to work for Virgin Records as Director of Audio. After establishing himself as a highly sought after composer, producer and sound engineer, he decided to go out on his own and opened DFW Studios in Venice Beach. Some of his music and production credits include: Madonna's Grammy award winning album "Ray of Light", "Chin Chin" a track featured in the movie "Blade" plus remixes for the likes of Morrissey, New Order as well as composed a musical theme for Gucci.

In 2001, Damian was approached by artist Doug Aitken to create a monumental soundscape for the piece "Interiors". After the success of this project, DFW would go on to work with Aitken on numerous groundbreaking art installations. These works include "Sleepwalkers" and "Froniter" staring Ed Ruscha. Both "Interiors" and “Sleepwalkers" are in the permanent collection at MOMA. Damian is currently producing songs for 20 year old Terence Sheehan, collaborating with long-time drummer of Blondie, Clem Burke. A full length CD is scheduled for release on his independent label Sound Furnace, in late spring 2010.

In May 2010, the Brazilian Arts Foundation has asked Damian to curate, perform and lecture in the countries capital, Brasilia.

Damian has been featured on Public Radio International as well as in Tape Op magazine.
His "Minding The Boundaries-Beginning of Rainbow" sculpture appeared in the recent
Nikon commercial that features actor Ashton Kutcher. He is sponsored by paint company Benjamin Moore and their eco paint line "Aura" as well as Yamaha and Bose Corp.
